We live in a challenging economic time. Jobs and positions in the workforce are being trimmed and people being laid off around the country. So how does a person work to actively protect their livelihood and career?
One way is to use the military to help get a leg up in the workplace.
The Army has an exciting program called the PaYS Vocational program. It stands for Partnership for Army Youth Success. It is a program that helps train and match Army Servicemembers with employers so that after their military service they can access job opportunities with companies of their choice.
The program is fairly simple. Companies that participate with the PaYS program sit down and forecast their projected growth, and future needs for employees. The Army PaYS soldier Servicemember is given a chance to establish a relationship with a quality employer, and gets a ?foot in the door,? so to speak. The promise that the PaYS company agrees give is to interview the potential candidate after they get out of the Army.
This is a new program that is proving to be very successful. Many large companies and Fortune 500 corporations are using the trained Army personnel to bolster their workforce in areas, plugging in returning Veterans in positions they have a hard time finding employees for. It?s a win-win situation for everyone involved.
So if this sounds like something that you would benefit from or that interests you, take some time to contact your Army Recruiter and ask about the PaYS Program, or Partnership for Army Youth Success.
