The United States Navy operates around the world to protect and to supply support where needed. The vessels used to supply this protection are very important to the ability of the US Navy to do its job. One of the most important parts of the ship include the hull. Making sure that the hull is always in good working order is the job of the hull technician.
What You Will Do
You will do work on the outside of the hull as well as the inside of the hull. While the majority of your work will either be out in the open or inside of small crawlways inside of the vessel, you will also work in a machinist setting so that you can work on panels or necessary equipment which is intended to maintain the proper operational condition of the hull.
