There are many defenses that the United States Army uses whenever in the field. These defenses range from hand to hand combat techniques all the way to missile defenses. The missile defenses used are important to stave off attacks from other missiles as well as to protect from aircraft which pose a threat to the bases. Making sure that these systems are working properly is the task of the PATRIOT system repairer in the US Army.
What You Will Do
When you are working in this position, you will be expected to test and improve the missile systems that your unit will depend on. You will be expected to run tests on the system in order to make sure that all components are working properly. You will also need to make sure that the system will be able to fire properly when necessary. Additionally, you will be required to work with other personnel to train them on how to use the systems so that the missiles will fire properly.

Get the Training
This is not an entry level position, so you will have already have gone through basic training and likely you will gone through advanced training in a field as well. You will have to go through additional advanced training for 13 weeks at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama. You will also need to make sure that you are qualified to receive a Secret security clearance.
