Iraqi Citizens Assist Joint Coalition And Iraqi Military Efforts
There are many different methods of assisting the military forces but the most intense is the assistance that comes from the citizens of Iraq. Troops from 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry have uncovered a number of weapons caches recently with the assistance of the Iraqi local citizens.
The caches uncovered were including a number of different complete sets of IEDs, as well as a large amount of explosives. There were 20 different sets of mortar tubes and rounds, as well as over 300 pounds of raw explosives. The explosives were discovered due to a number of civilian tips, that were uncovered with the enthusiastic assistance of the local community.
The community has become more invested in the support of the Coalition, and of the Iraqi Security Forces. As short as two years ago, they have had no success in the support of overall military options.
Now, the citizens are able to be relied upon consistently for help and aid, as well as the ability to uncover ongoing terrorist and insurgent activity. There has been a gradual increase in the quality and the reliability of the information that is shared, and the coalition is able to use the information to its best use.
