Patriotic Effort Successful For Iraqi Youth
The members of the Baghdad Doura community have been proud to have their children participate recently in a patriotic poster contest. The contest was one that was created to help create patriotism among the youth in Doura, and it is thought to have been successful.
The posters that were submitted were very advanced, and showed a level of cultural understanding and awareness that surprised the judges and those who were involved in collecting the posters.
Some of the Children used techniques and styles that showed a level of understanding to what has taken place in Iraq over the last couple of years, and this pleased the members of the committee and the judges for the poster contest.
The children appear to be able to discern the different levels of security, and to be feeling more secure than they were a short time ago. Many of the children seemed to design posters that showed a level or relaxation and an a appreciation that the Iraqi Nation has progressed to a safer and more secure nation.
The educational experience for the children appears also to have been a success. The Patrons for the event held the contest at the Doura library and Cultural Center, and it is in itself a location that has undergone a high level of restoration.
