Coalition Works With New Iraqi Army Servicemembers
One of the issues that is being required for new Army commanders in Iraq is to participate in a program of leadership that is being led by Coalition US Army leaders. Leadership is one of the areas that the Iraqi Army has lacked in the past, and it is one area that the US Army is assisting with now.
The Iraqi Army has a program that is being led by the Coalition. Their Army officers have been working in a number of programs that teach them different leadership techniques, and how to treat both civilians and their soldiers.
Then, they are partnered with different US Servicemembers that mentor them on a one to one basis. This part is key to helping them learn how to deal with different issues, and different methods of maintaining discipline, and how to deal with different problems.
This is a program that started at first in 2005, and it has been effective in providing different types of training, training that the Iraqi Army has not been able to teach before.
