Jordanian Entry Security Proceeded With Iraq Security Forces
As the Iraqi nation slowly begins to achieve equilibrium, the nation has several different activities that it still needs to master. One of these is the maintaining of proper levels of border security.
A small band of trained US Marine Corps instructors and warriors are working closely to train members from the Iraqi Security Forces. They have been working hard to teach the first class from a border police basic skills course that graduated October 7th.
US Border and Customs officers along with different Iraqi and English interpreters are working closely with the Marine Corps Port of Entry transition officers. They are working to teach skills to a group of 26 police and Iraqi offers in how to deal with border issues. The course deals with persons and vehicles that are entering and departing Iraq, through the Port of Trebil.
This is the only major crossing point between the nation of Jordon and Iraq, and it is a chokepoint for all crossing and immigration between the two nations. The achievement and focus is to mentor and train, and to advise the various members of the Iraqi Security forces, teaching them how to deal with the different issues.
The team members are embedded into different groups of the Iraqi Security Forces, and they are being successful at a high rate.
