New Candidates Receive Coalition Sponsored Training
The Iraqi Police has undergone a lot of significant major change. It has been trained, and given professionalism that has transformed it from a mediocre police agency into a state of the art professional force. They are even starting to train their own recruits, under the watchful eyes of coalition trainers.
Karkh Iraqi police are making very professional and positive steps toward becoming self sufficient by using some of the main training techniques that they have been taught by the coalition, to train their own recruits.
They are using the Police-train-the-trainer-program with the direct assistance of many of the same coalition staff that helped train the Karkh police force initially. The program is being supervised by the 101st Airborne, 2nd BCT, 42nd Field Artillery regiment, 4th battalion and the coalition has been very pleased with their progress.
Over the last couple of months, the field Artillery of the 42nd regiment has worked with the Karkh police to train them to be effective trainers and teachers at their own police academy.
With the supervision of the Coalition the program has worked very well, and the academy teachers and instructors all completed a intensive and comprehensive one week training course that has given them the means to teach and train recruits for police service.
The academy will continue to train policemen, and the academy will grow and learn as time goes on, becoming better at the job of training young recruits to become efficient policemen.
