Detainees Rehabilitated And Rejoin Families With Coalition Aid
There are a number of families near Ghazaliyah that have been able to benefit from the joint rehabilitation program that is in existence to serve the Iraqi people. Members of the insurgency, or other members from Al Qaeda, or those persons that have otherwise broken Iraqi law are able to be rehabilitated, and return to Iraqi Society.
The members of community that participate and go through the rehabilitation program have a number of different things that they must do before returning to society. They meet with a number of Iraqi and Coalition staff, whose express job it is concerns talking to the members who face rehabilitation.
Each member has to sign a pledge, and to vow that they will no longer break Iraqi laws. They must swear allegiance to the Iraqi Government and the Iraqi people, and they have an opportunity to meet with different members of the Iraq religious community.
Only after each of these different steps has been completed will the member be approved. So far the program has returned a large num The latest group here in Iraq consists of 47 individuals who have passed all the different tests, and only wait the actual release.
This is seen as one of the bright spots in the overall healing for Iraq, and it gives the community and the families of the members who have been in prison hope for the future.
