511th Military Police Company Gives Out Supplies
The forces of the Iraqi Army joined with the Coalition soldiers to hand out food in Al Kut recently. Iraqi Army security forces were on hand to join with the 511th MP Company in handing out food and supplies to more than 200 families. The food and supplies were handed out in the Zuwarijat district near the village of Al Kut, as part of the ongoing Operation Thunder II.
During the Operation Thunder II itself, the Iraqi Army and ISF forces worked very hard to maintain and establish security in the Al Kut area, including kicking out several families that were not actual families but individual insurgents. As the Iraqi Army has gained in ability they have been able to build ties with local citizens, and the trust relationships have helped grow a better security situation for everyone.

The 511 Military Police Company worked along with the members of the 214th Fire Brigade to make sure that each of the 200 families that showed up for the food distribution got their share of the supplies. The families were well behaved there was no problem at all.
“This is impressive, the Iraqi Security force has not been as adept previously at security operations,” said Colonel Peter Baker, commander of the 214th FB. “These missions are great examples of the Iraqi Security Force and its growing potential, I am impressed,” said Colonel Baker.
