Kadena Air Base, Okinawa-Many different opportunities exist to serve in today?s Military. For the soldiers and Airmen that serve at the Kadena Japan Airbase, it can often be a chance to give back to the community.
The Kadena Airman and Family Readiness Center is a location that provides a lot of useful services, both in support of the men and women stationed at Kadena and to their local community.
Newcomer briefings, Orientations, New Spouse welcoming events, there is a host of different things that people do in their spare time as volunteers at the Readiness and Family Center.

Sometimes the volunteers are Airmen who serve during their off duty hours. At other times the volunteers are staffed by spouses or relatives of personnel that serve on the base.
?It is something we like to and choose to do, we are never forced to work a lot of hours,? said one spouse that volunteers several hours a week.
?We rely heavily on our volunteers,? said Allisa Shepard, Community Readiness Center Technician. ?We could not perform our duty and mission without all of the help, we really appreciate our volunteers.? Sadi Ms. Shepard.
