Coalition Aids Rishad Valley In Kirkuk Province
The Rishad valley in the province of Kirkuk has been able to enjoy a return to relative peace and prosperity in the last several months. It is located several miles from the main road, and it has traditionally been a quiet and peaceful village, until the fighting that came when insurgents and terrorists took over the town for a period of time.
The coalition worked to identify, using the citizens and community members, who were members of the terror cells, and gradually they worked to drive away or arrest members of the different insurgency groups. They acted to set up operations, and show the insurgents that terrorism and insurgency has no place in Iraq.
Gradually, the coalition has also been successful in setting up training, and as the members of the ISF have been trained, the job and responsibility of security has been given over to the Iraqi forces. It has been a process, and one that was not without a certain amount of hard work and effort on both the Iraqi forces, and the coalition.
