The United States Navy is made up of people from every part of the United States. They make up different religions and different backgrounds. They have personal hardships and beliefs which must be respected in order to maintain the right level of morale onboard the US Navy vessels. The job of the Navy Chaplain is to make sure that all members of the Navy have the morale and spiritual guidance they need to cope and move on with their duties.
Helping on a Personal Level
There are many problems a Navy personnel member might face while they are at sea and far from home. They might miss something or someone which causes their heart to break. They may have their spirituality tested. It is your job as a chaplain to make sure that they have someone to talk to who will provide them the guidance they need to remain calm and in control no matter what problems they may be facing in their own personal life.
