There are times in which it is unavoidable to hire an outside contractor to help with certain projects on the Unites States Air Force bases. Whenever the base hires contractors, it is not always easy to make sure that they will stay on contract. While every contractor is scrutinized very hard when they are hired, they are outside sources. This is why there is an operations manager who will oversee bother the Air Force engineers and the outside contractors to make sure the job is being done right.
Middle Man
A very large part of your assignment as operations manager will be to go between the engineers and the contractors. You will talk about what is going right with the job and what can be improved upon. This will not only help to make sure the contractors are staying focused and not being wasteful. It will also help if there are any changes which need to be made in the execution of the contract.
