There are many different machines which are used every day throughout the United States Coast Guard. It is important that these machines are able to work correctly at all times. This is because the machines which are required include everything from the combustion engines which power the vessels through the water to the different engines which are responsible for such things as temperature regulation and more. This is why the job of the machinery technician in the US Coast Guard is so important.
What You Will Do
You will be in charge of making sure that all of the machinery is being maintained as well as making sure that all of the hardware is installed correctly and in good operational condition. You will also be expected to troubleshoot problems as they arise in order to make sure that the vessel will have less downtime and more time working to defend the coasts of the United States.

While you will likely have the mechanical skills to do many different tasks in a workshop, you will be able to go through twelve weeks of ?A? School Training in Yorktown, VA.
