Furniture Marketplace Rebuilt And Revitalized
There have been a lot of attention given to the Baghdad region since the surge. The Iraqi security forces have worked hard, and after handing over the lions share of security duty to members of the Iraqi Security Forces, they have been working hard to help with rebuilding the infrastructure of Iraq.
After examining the situation around Baghdad, they found there was a great deal to do. There was a large amount of unemployment, businesses needing repair, and dirty streets. Members of the MNF Iraqi Baghdad forces rolled up their sleeves, and began to help.
There has been a number of Micro Grants given, and assistance given to allow the members of the Iraqi community a change to recover. Many businesses have applied for and received sums of money in the form of business Micro Grants, and this money has been used to rebuild different businesses.
In particular there was a number of businesses in the North Baghdad Furniture Market, who received the micro grants and rebuilt their businesses. The Furniture Market businesses received about $500 to $2,500 dollars, on average.
Local businesses are now selling about six times as much furniture as they did about a year ago, and the micro grants are a large reason for the change.
The different shop owners said that they credit their help from the coalition for the changes.
