There is a group that helps provide for Servicemembers and their families who have served on active duty in the Armed Forces, and who have became disabled because of their military service. The program started for veterans who are in the Washington D.C. area undergoing treatment for service connected disabilities. It is on a 600 acre site which has riverfront access to the lower Patuxent River in St. Mary?s County Maryland.
Veterans who were in the area undergoing treatment often did not get much of a chance to get out past their hospital rooms, so the Greenwell Foundation created the program to support these veterans undergoing ongoing treatment and rehabilitation programs. Serving in the military is a very honorable pursuit, and there are a number of organizations that work hard to show the appreciation and support of the American people. It provides support for a variety of outdoor activities such as horseback riding, hiking, fishing, sailing kayaking, and an additional variety of programs and activities. The Greenwell Foundation, a group in Maryland that helps provides assistance and activities support for disabled veterans and others, has been involved for a number of years in Veterans support activities, and they are working hard to give appreciation and support for the service of our veterans to their country. It is a program that helps with the recreation activities of the veterans and their families.
It is called the Greenwell Foundation, and they provide a program called Vacations for Vets. It was created by the Greenwell family to give support and assistance to disabled people including disabled veterans, and is currently ran and administered by a non-profit foundation. The foundation is dedicated to providing facilities and services for Veterans who are disabled and other disabled people and to make the Greenwell State Park accessible for all people. The program is located at Greenwell State Park in Southern Maryland. It is aimed at veterans with disabilities and works toward the goal of life inclusion but it is available to any Veteran that is even partly disabled. It is staffed by trained volunteers to assist the veteran and Servicemembers with full program participation.

I am a fishing lodge owner in Alaska. We are a family operated business for the last 28 years. We haven’t been in the military, but a lot of family and friends have been. We would love to be able to give a vacation to a disabled vet, for everything they have given to us. Our lodge is totally wheelchair accessible and have charter boats that works for them to. I have been looking for places to volunteer our services, but they have been hard to find hope you might have some ideas.

I hope you are able to help some vets. I wanted to let you know about my vet. He is 100% disabled, but not physically. He has PTSD. Some of the scars of war are not visible. He would love to take our kids on a vacation like you spoke of. He does not work and we get by on his VA disability. He feels bad because he cant do for us. Sincerely, Laura Hathaway
