Celebration of Ramadan Brings Visitors
Every year the celebration of Ramadan brings large crowds of worshipers and visitors to different locations in Iraq. A huge number of visitors came to the city park in Eid Al Fitr, where the three day celebration marked the end of the month of fasting for Ramadan.
Because of the fears and battle it has been years since people gathered in such high numbers. ?It is a successful huge celebration,? said Lieutenant Colonel Robert Kirby.
Colonel Kirby is the commander of the 4th battalion, 42nd field artillery regiment, 1st Brigade combat team, 4th infantry.
?We were able to successfully supervise the Ramadan Festival where everyone is breaking the fast and this is a long term historic place for pilgrims to visit afterwards,? said Colonel Kirby.
The reason that there is a huge number of people is that everyone is starting to feel safe and can move about with their families and enjoy a day or evening at the local city park.
