There are a number of services that are available to Soldiers who enlist in the Army, who are preparing to mobilize and head out on deployment. Some of these services and benefits are known; others are not as well published. Some of the services that are available to enlisted Servicemembers in the Army as they get ready to deploy include: Dependent Services: The Army has a series of programs that help dependents and spouses that remain behind when the Servicemember goes off on active duty deployment. The Army Youth and Child Services features childcare programs for the families of Army Servicemembers. The costs are normally very reasonable and based on rank and pay grade. Different childcare services can range from basic to more advanced programs that include fitness programs and sports programs.
Morale Welfare And Recreation: The Army has a whole support network of programs for the Army family, and for the Servicemember. These are programs designed to support and benefit the Servicemember in their military service, as well as helping provide for relaxation and leisure activities that are supportive and encourage family support. Relocation Assistance: The Army provides a number of different benefit services for families that are facing change of duty station, or the need to move to support the assigned duty station of the assigned Servicemember. They offer web based Internet advising sites, as well as a new program of topic information. The program is called the SITES program, or Standard Information Topics Exchange. It features online information about most of the different duty stations in the Army, and information is added all the time to the database. It helps answer a lot of questions when an Army Servicemember and their family are assigned to a new duty station.
Family Advocacy: The Army has a number of different programs to assist Army Servicemembers and their families. Their programs range from classes for new parents, to assistance to special needs family members, or abuse prevention.
Money Services: The Army provides counseling and financial readiness services to counsel and advise soldiers and their families in personal finance areas. They hold regular classes on consumer issues, money management, and financial planning. Soldiers learn how to manage personal debt and plan for their financial future.
