2nd Brigade Of Iraqi Army Graduates Combat Training
A ceremony honoring the newest graduates from the Iraqi Combat Training course was held January 2nd. These fine soldiers received the training at the hands of Iraqi trainers, and were given long instruction in techniques and methods of combat training.
Military Trainers with U.S. Forces and Coalition soldiers helped design and train the staff at the school, and members of the Multi National MiTT team stood by and watched with appreciation as the Iraqi students graduated.
The ceremony at Besmaya was filled with speeches, marching, music and a sense of pride. The new soldiers were given the equipment and training to battle under live fire any enemies that may threaten Iraqi or its people. The new unit is called 2nd Brigade, Iraqi Army 11th Division. The new training takes an Army Brigade and trains it as a unit with new Equipment and methods. This training is called Unit Set Fieldling.
Abd Al-Qadir Al-Mufriji, the Minister of Defense for Iraqi was present at the event and gave a rousing speech to the crowd and new graduates. The people you represent, the fine citizens of Iraqi have invested in you time, energy and money, to make sure that you, our Army can defend them,? said Al-Mufriji. We need to be humbled, and grateful for the chance to protect and to serve. Said Al-Mufriji.
Following the ceremony, the Defense Minister greeted and shook hands with the new graduates, and toured the medical facility, firing ranges, and the Besmaya Military Complex. He also viewed the new Equipment that each trained Iraqi Army Brigade will have.
