Navy Computer Information Tech Careers

The Navy has over 300 ships and more than 4,000 aviation aircraft. Each of these has computers on board and requires skilled and trained operators to operate and maintain them, as well as being on hand to provide support and repair. The US Navy uses Computer Information Technology specialists to maintain and operate their computer networks and perform duty in support of Navy operations.

You will provide a needed direct link and be part of maintaining high mission readiness and be part of the overall daily fleet operations. The field of computers is a challenging one, and you will be directed to handle both unclassified and classified materials, and do so as a matter of routine in the course of each day. The US Navy has one of the most advanced computer network systems and Information technology worldwide capability in the world. Using computers and operating computer networks is something that can be lucrative and the Navy provides some of the most intense and in depth training available anywhere in the world.
You will provide support and communications for the entire U.S. Navy fleet. The specialist that works with the US Navy in Computer Information Technology is someone who deals with the most state of the Art equipment you can imagine. Computers in the U.S. Navy and information technology deal with a great deal of responsibility and maturity. Working in the field of U.S. computer technology can set you up for a life long career, as well as making you invaluable to your Navy and your country. Whether you are working with a satellite system, or operating high frequency computer network microwave communications gear, the Navy can set you up with training and support to learn a high tech trade, as well as serving your country at the same time. You will work to identify and discerning between different signals from radar and sonar sources, read and interpret technical electronic signals, dealing with technical manuals, charts and schematics, analyze and collect various electronic signals and radio information, be involved in communications between ships in the fleet and Navy Aircraft, and work to repair and provide maintenance for Navy Computer networks.

Part of your job will be to use state of the art electronics and equipment, and you will have the ability and training to repair and diagnose each of these systems. Some of the different duties and responsibilities that you will required to deal with includes:
