It appears that the #BoycottNFL online efforts resulting from fan outrage due to the National Anthem protests is hitting the NFL in their pocketbooks.
All to say, maybe NFL fans have a heart pulse for the men and women who bravely protect our country after all.
The ratings continue to reflect a downward trend that at first seemed to be a minor bump. However, after four weeks the NFL is on pace to have a collective lowest ratings in many years.
The NFL prized time slot is Monday Night Football and there ratings have even dropped a whooping 8% compared to last years MNF for week four. Although, the previous week’s Monday Night game was the lowest ever, that was the same night as a record breaking Presidential debate. All to say, any interpretation from those ratings can be tossed since there are such debates only once every four years.
Sadly, the protests continues and even now extends to other venues outside the NFL. Likely that there will be little change without strong leadership politically or from the NFL.
So the million dollar question remains, will the downward trend continue? Stay tuned!
