Community Pool Rebuilt And Opened For Community
As the security in the Iraqi Nation improves, the continuing rebuilding of the nation also continues to improve. One of the projects that have been recently completed is a community recreation pool, located in the Sadr City region.
The recent ribbon cutting ceremony to re open the pool was held on Aug 26th. The pool was abandoned, and filled with large amounts of putrid and dirty water.
The Coalition is increasingly looking for different projects that help to improve the quality of life for Iraqi Residents. There has been so much battle and combat that many of the citizens have been dealing with anxiety and stress for long periods of time.
The pool project is one method of helping life return to normal, and it has been well received by the members of the local community, as well as the Iraq government.
Repairing the outer wall, remodeling shower rooms, and refurbishing of the concession stand are all elements that are featured in the remodeling project.
A contract was awarded and work started in March, and it has been progressing at a steady pace. Work did have to halt for a number of weeks after hostilities flared up briefly in Sadr City, but then continued.
