Coalition Gives POB Whiskey To Iraqi Security Forces
In another area of assumed control, the Iraqi Security Forces assumed control of forward Patrol Base Whiskey from the Coalition last Friday. The transfer of authority is the culmination in the region from the last four years, and is proof that the Iraqi Army and security force is getting stronger and more professionalism and able to maintain their society.
The area in and around POB Whiskey has been one of the most dangerous regions over the last several years, and it has only been in the last 18 months that the Iraqi Security Forces have been able to get a handle on the region. The coalition and the surge has been partly responsible for the improvements and this includes the contribution made by the Sons of Iraq, and the help of the local citizens.
The efforts of the coalition, and the American soldiers have been very focused and they have been working with the Iraqi Army and Security Forces to transfer the control for the Patrol base over the last two weeks, with a effort toward making sure that the area remains secure and safe.
