Locals Flock To Recruitment Drive, Hundreds Accepted
There is a lot of different areas in Iraqi Society that need help, the country itself is a focused area of chaos as the country works hard to rebuild, and one of the most successful area of recruitment recently is for the Iraqi National Police.
A direct recruitment drive was held in the Lutifiyah, Iraq area, there is a concerted need for police in the area. The Lutifiyah region can support its own police unit, but there have not been enough candidates to man a police station, hence the recruitment drive held last week.
Over 100 candidates from the Iraqi Community showed up, and it has been a successful recruitment effort overall. The turnout was strong, and the coalition was pleased to see such a strong response.
?Lutifiyah needs a strong local police force, and this recruitment effort is the first step to see that the needs are met,? said US Army Captain Eric Daldom.
Captain Daldom is the assistance information officer with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th mountain division.
The event was began and in held as a result of Iraqi initiative, it was devised scheduled and manned strictly by Iraqi Police officers. The Iraqi government has been growing and their police services have been growing and maturing , as well.

Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army Soldiers screened the applicants, to make sure that they qualified before processing the applications for police duty. The applicants had to meet certain requirements, including having no past security issues, no past criminal record, being an Iraqi Citizen, possessing a 9th grade minimum education, and being from 20 to 26 years old.
