Mr. Edwards has suggested that there will be a budgeted $400 million for Veterans that have come back from their tours in the military to receive the medical attention that they need and deserve. This is especially true of so many Veterans that have been coming back from Iraq, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, and the likes there of, with PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Mr. Edwards is hoping that this will be awareness for the American public that the Veterans need assistance, as well as possibly swing votes towards his election for presidency.
It is well known that there is a substantial shortage with the funding that is given for Veteran’s medical needs as well as their affairs. There are more and more soldiers that are returning home from the current war that are not receiving the medical attention that they need due to the misappropriation of funds.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder has been one of the main symptoms that almost all of the soldiers that have had an illness with have been diagnosed with when they return home. The assistance that would be given from John Edward’s proposal would be one of the most precedent and substantial for those with PTSD. Should Senator John Edwards be elected as the next president, many Veterans can be hopeful that there will finally be a voice for their medical needs as well.
