There are many different needs which a United States Army base will have which will mirror the needs that you will find in a regular town. Among these different needs includes the need to protect the food and water supply as much as possible. These different things that you will need in order to survive are protected by water treatment specialists in the US Army. It is easy to see why this career is so important.
What You Will Do
You will primarily be responsible for installing and maintaining the different systems which are necessary to allow you to be able to have a safe and clean water supply for the base. You will also be responsible for inspecting and issuing reports based on the condition of the facilities which are responsible for food and water supplies. You will look for the presence of disease, germs and additional conditions which might prove to be hazardous.

Get the Training
If you are looking to work in this position, you will be required to get a 90 on the GM area of the ASVAB. You will also have to go through basic training like all of the rest of the recruits. In addition, you will need to go through 13 weeks and one day of training at Fort Lee in Virginia for specialized training. Here, you will learn in a combination of classroom as well as hands-on environments to make sure that you will get everything that you will need to work in your new position.
