In the past, the most an army had to fear was cannon shot. As weapons have advanced over the years, the threats have grown increasingly scarier. Among the scariest weapons are those which are of a Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear (CBRN) nature. These weapons have been banned by the international laws. Unfortunately, this does not stop many rogue nations from employing them. It is the job of the CBRN specialist in the US Army to protect lives.
What You Will Do
You will be called upon to analyze different weapons which are found in the possession of the enemy forces as well as to analyze the area where CBRN weapons have suspected of being used. You will wear all of the protective equipment to protect yourself while you are trying to find out what effects the weapons might have had on the area you are working in.
Making sure you know what you are doing is highly important. This is why you will go through ten weeks of advanced training after you go through basic military training. You will learn how to recognize and neutralize threats which can threaten those in the area as well as those throughout the world. You will learn how to clean areas as well as how to properly dispose of the materials used in weapons of this nature. Click on the link above to find out even more about this career.
