Battalion Works To Help The Sunni Community
The Doura community will continue to work toward rebuilding and community harmony, but the effort will be made a lot easier with the continued assistance of Raider Brigade Combat Team. The MNF soldiers work with Iraqi soldiers to patrol the Doura area of Rashid District. The 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment has been tasked to assist the residents of Doura by the government and the Iraqi people. “It is our intention to work with the residents of Doura to create a stable and safe environment for living,” said Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Watson. Colonel Watson is commander of 2/4th Infantry Regiment.
The mission of the Regimental battalion is to work with Iraqi security forces and district local Iraqi councils. The region is host to the Doura Market, and a hub for economic and cultural issues in South Baghdad. The soldiers work to maintain a security presence in Doura and to work to prevent terrorist and criminal activity.
