Citizens And Iraqi Forces Assess Rebuilding Efforts
The security in Iraq has improved to the point that the Iraqi Security Forces and citizens are beginning to take stock, and evaluate the progress of reconstruction and the rebuilding efforts.
Security gains have allowed different projects to begin that would have been unthinkable just a short time ago. Members of Task Force 1-6 have attached members of 3rd BCT, 4th Infantry to the Iraqi Security Forces, and together they have worked to eliminate terrorism and insurgent activities.
People are able to return to the streets, and the members of the local Sadr City community have been successful in rebuilding and constructing a number of local facilities.
The Government of Iraq is pumping money into the entire Sadr City region.
As reconstruction is successful, the players and members of the reconstruction efforts are taking the time now to evaluate the overall efforts to date.
The rebuilding has gone well, with little or no failure in the different projects. As each project and rebuilding effort is completed, the emphasis moves on to the next item on the list. There are literally hundreds of different projects and facilities, schools, businesses and other places that are needed to be rebuilt, and each successful project is one small step closer to making the nation of Iraq whole again.

The citizens have been warming to the idea of reconstruction. At first they were hesitant, and had a hard time believing that the coalition truly wanted to help. But as time passed even the most reluctant and disbelieving of citizens have come to learn the truth.
