There is a new course of training for enlisted senior Servicemembers. This is a capstone type course that will give them additional training for service readiness, and allow them the opportunity to develop the skills and leadership to perform their missions more readily. It is a course of education for senior enlisted troops that was designed to help meet the demands of Operation Enduring Freedom and other operational readiness needs that the Armed Forces finds itself in. The Command Senior Enlisted Leader Joint Capstone Operations course is a course designed for the modern senior enlisted warfighter, one that promises to get senior Servicemembers the necessary skill and tools to perform their jobs more professionally.
Fighting in the War on terror has presented the Armed Forces with a number of challenges that are not normally what has been faced in the past. Issues of how joint task forces operate, how they are formed, the life cycle of a developing joint task force, control and command issues dealing with joint task force operations, as well as a number of other senior leadership and enlisted issues are covered by this new educational course.
Most of the senior enlisted personnel that are serving within U.S. Central Command will have an opportunity to attend this new course, at one time or another. If they have not already attended the one-week capstone course, they will have the chance within a short time, according to U.S. Central Command leaders. The course is specifically designed to provide the skills and address the leadership issues that are presenting our Armed Forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. The U.S. Armed Forces Joint Command started to offer this new Warfighting Senior Enlisted course in the spring of 2007, and it was immediately seen as a fantastic benefit. It has given the senior sailors, marines, airmen, soldiers, and Coast Guardsmen the resources and tools necessary to perform their duty. We serve in a world now where no service goes to War by itself, and being able to related and interact with our sister services has been one of the issues that has been needing to be addressed by Senior Enlisted Leaders.

Command Senior Enlisted personnel are being rotated through the one-week course, until all Senior Enlisted members serving in Combat Zones for the United States Armed Forces will have the opportunity to attend the educational training. This is a practical, deck plate; boots on the ground type of training, and the training and education found in the one-week course has been universally well received by the senior enlisted personnel that have attended the course.
