Private First Class Nicholas Muncie recently wrote to the Newark Advocate newspaper asking if they would please deliver a special message to his mother by printing his letter in the newspaper.
Private First Class Nicholas Muncie wrote: “I’m a 20-year-old soldier in Iraq right now and I would really love it if you would post something in your paper for me” to the Newark Advocate. He said that his mother’s birthday had passed, but he knew she read the paper every day and wanted to deliver a special message to her. Muncie’s unique message stated that he loved his mother, and thought about her constantly. He talked about missing his family, and how important they were to him. Every word of his special letter was printed in the Newark Advocate and seen both on paper and through their online news.
Private First Class Nicholas Muncie may be young, but he found an incredible and innovative way to get a special birthday message to his mother from thousands of miles away. What better way to know that you are loved and missed than to read it in your favorite daily paper.
The Newark Advocate printed the letter no questions asked, and hopefully it provided a wonderful birthday surprise for a certain soldier’s favorite person in the world.
I can only imagine how Nicholas’s mother reacted when she read Nicholas’s letter on the paper. That was so thoughtful & sweet of Nicholas. And, I absolutely agree. What better way than to know you are loved and missed than to read it in your favorite daily paper? Nicholas has really put a smile on my face. I hope his mother had a great birthday. I would like to take the time and say thank you for your service and sacrifice. Men like you are the reason why the country is the way it is! Your mother is extremely proud of you!
Happy Birthday to Nicholas’s favorite person in the world! 🙂
& if there’s any way I could personally email Nicholas, please send me his email address to my email 🙂
