October appears to be a good month for soldiers returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan. Last Friday, many men and women of the 1074th were reunited with their loved ones as they return from their posts protecting our country. Many of these soldiers, who were welcomed home in an incredible sea of red white and blue were gone for as long as a year and appear happy beyond words to be home again.
The Fisher Family, for example, was fairly nervous and anxious when it came to welcoming their daughter home. They managed to correspond with her via e-mail and instant message, but having her home is so much better because they can talk to her in person.
The family promises they are going to let their daughter Sergeant Katrina Fisher be in charge of her homecoming celebration. Her mother claims that it doesn’t matter what Katrina decides to do, as she’s just so happy to have her home and safe.
The Foran family is ecstatic and relieved that John Foran is returning home after a year overseas. Now this newlywed family can finally enjoy their married life and long-awaited honeymoon together.
Stephanie Foran wholeheartedly believes that having John leave was the most traumatic experience she has ever had, but she is ready to put it behind her in favor of more enjoyable days.
As soldiers continue to reunite with their families, they are finding themselves separated from their newfound family in all of the fellow soldiers they have fought alongside in the past year.
