Careers today require specialized training. Gone are the days when you could just walk into a company and learn as you go. Instead, employers are looking for potential employees who already have specialized training and experience.
Computer Training
One of the great things about the military is that there are numerous opportunities for computer training that can be used later in the private sector. Computer military jobs can run from computer encryption to computer networking to writing computer programs for large and small projects. One of the very exciting areas that the Navy and Air Force is expanding into is the use of game-like simulators for training exercises.
High Tech Jobs
In addition to computer training in the United States Military, there are uncounted opportunities for people who already have specialized computer and high tech skills. For example, a quick search of military recruitment sites includes such diverse high tech jobs as system security engineers, programmers, cryptologists, network maintenance engineers and other high tech jobs. These positions pay well and do not always involve deployment outside the United States.
Communications Jobs
Communications careers are also in high demand in the United States Military. Since much of military operations centers around the use of intelligence gathered by satellite data, careers that involve management of communication systems and satellite positioning are also in high demand.
