New Youth Program Sponsored By Coalition Soldiers
The areas in Taji that have been damaged by battle, and by vandals has stood out in the different operation in the village. Recently, a excellent effort was made by a group of the Summer Youth Taji Village authority to clean up the village.
Members of the Embedded Multi National Division Baghdad along with the 25th Infantry Division have been working hard to help give adolescents opportunities to serve, and one of the best things they have been working on is cleaning up their village.
Members of the Taji Youth program picked up trash, painted the outside of buildings, and cleaned up trash from the streets in a week long clean up effort recently.
They worked to start the effort on August 1st, and while the main thrust lasted a single week, there are follow up efforts that are being made for a 30 day period. This effort marks the end of summer project for the Youth Authority, just prior to children returning to school in September.

Normally many of these kids would not be involved doing anything over the summer, but this has created a service opportunity that many of the children have showed a flair for.
In working to clean up their neighborhood, the children learn skills, and how to deal with groups of people, as well as the importance of giving service to their community and neighborhood.
