United And Healthy Meetings Held At COB Speicher
Tikrit, Iraq– The medical team associated with Task Force Iron joined with the staff at COB Speicher to host a in the field medical conference March 23rd.
The United and Healthy Conference at COB Speicher brought together different medical professionals both in the Coalition Iraqi theater and Iraqi medical personnel.
Members of the Ministry of Health, Provincial Reconstruction Coalition teams, Director Health Generals, and other U.S. And Iraqi Medical professionals came together to compare notes, present issues, and related information to help solve various problems.
“This conference is a moment in history for Iraq, bringing all of these skilled and accomplished professionals here today demonstrates the determination of Iraq to solve problems it faces today,” said Major General Mark P. Hertling.
The unique medical conference gave each of the attendees an idea of the situations that their counterparts in both the Coalition and Iraqi Medical community face. The dynamics of regional, national and province conditions were discussed and explored, and different problems that are faced by all medical members in the Iraqi theater of operations were discussed.

Many of the medical professionals who attended the conference seemed to learn a great deal about how their colleagues were dealing with medical problems they face.
“This type of conference needs to occur more often, not less, because it helps break down barriers and establish a working relationship across lines, and we need that kind of cooperation as we work together to solve some of the daunting problems we are facing together,” said General Hertling.
