U.S. Soldiers Meet With Iraqi Army Troops
Camp Taji, Iraq
In a welcome show of international cooperation, U.S, Coalition, and Iraqi Army Forces from Task Force XII joined together for Iraqi Partnership Day.
The soldiers and troops from various nations found that they had a lot in common, especially in the aviation area. The main thrust and goal of today is to improve our relationships, the ones between Iraqi and U.S. Military forces,? stated Colonel Timothy J. Edens. Colonel Edens is an AH-64 Apache pilot, as well as the Task Force XII Commanding Officer.
Speaking as aviators, it is especially important to have good relationships with our fellow Iraqi Pilots, said Colonel Edens.
1st Air Cavalry Brigade began the relationship with various Iraqi Forces when they first deployed to Iraq, and the relationship between the two groups has grown and blossomed ever since. It is a great honor and privilege to be able to participate in this event, this Partnership Day, remarked Colonel Dan Shanahan. Colonel Shanahan is Commander of 1st Air Cavalry Brigade. We have a great relationship with a special group of soldiers,? said Colonel Shanahan.
Included in the Partnership Day was a visit and tour of the Taji Wing of the Iraqi Air Force. This is the place where the pilots of the Iraqi Aviation wing works, trains, and lives.
I would like to say thank you to all of the U.S. Military for everything, said General Sati.
General Sati is Commander of the Iraqi Taji Wing Force. In our relations through our military forces, we are meeting the goals and targets of our Air Force of Iraq. Said General Sati.
