This is America. The symbol of our country is the American Flag. The Star Spangled Banner is the anthem of our country.
In this day and age, I find myself shaking my head or simply sitting, wondering what has become of the respect and morals of this country? How is it that people have forgotten those two basic truths of our country? The American flag and the National Anthem.
I have decided that within my own little slice of America, I shall continue to go to work each day, do my job to the best of my ability, knowing that at the end of the day, I have honestly and respectfully earned my paycheck.
I shall continue to help those in need within my own community. I shall continue to pray daily for those in need as well as for our country, which so desperately needs prayer.
I have no intention of being pulled into arguments or debates. You, as an individual, can make a different right where you are. In your own hometown.
Can I personally save or change the world? No, I cannot. But I can change one person?s world, in some small way, simply by being there for them. Offering a helping hand when needed.
I do not need to be famous, make millions, or have a ?platform? to get my point across. I will simply help where needed. I do not need accolades or public recognition for my actions.
I simply want to be a good person, knowing that at the end of the day, I did the best I could.
It should not be a novel concept in this day and age. Helping our fellow man. Respecting our elected leaders, our veterans and our flag.
The American flag, the symbol of our country, which stands for so much. The symbol of America that has withstood so much over the decades, and yet she still waves. In no small part because of men and women who honor this country and what it stands for, faults and all.
The American’s Creed
“I believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people by the people, for the people, whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a Republic; a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect Union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.
I therefore believe it is my duty to my Country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws; to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.”
When I find myself in a situation where the American flag is passing by, I shall stand with hand over heart or rendering a salute.
When I find myself in a situation where the National Anthem is playing, I shall stand, with my hand over my heart or rendering a salute.
There is no political or misguided statement I will try to make. I will not link arms with anyone, I will not disregard the decades of sacrifice given by so many for my right to honor them.
I will stand.
