The primary way the Army can give you a better life is by increasing the financial stability of the family. Many people who join the military do not have good financial resources or good examples of money management.
By taking advantage of the Army?s signing bonuses, tuition reimbursement and GI Bill benefits, soldiers give themselves a stable military career and find skills and knowledge that transfers into the civilian world in a stable and profitable career.
The education and great military job resulting from joining the Army, along with the education the Army allows a person to earn, can mean a different, more positive course for a family for generations. Having the steady, full-time employment of a military job is a comfort, especially in tough economic times.
The Army can also provide a focus and direction for young people unsure of what they want to do with their lives. Many youth graduate from high school without really knowing what they want to do with themselves. Others try to attend college, but have not yet developed the discipline and focus that will really allow them to succeed in a college environment.
An Army job or military career often provides the focus these young people need, instilling a sense of pride and purpose in their lives.
