Human Army Intelligence gathering is a high importance job that requires a person that can focus, and who is detailed and oriented for small issues as well as the large ones. As you rise in rank you will become involved in advanced HUMINT operations, and be part of the team that conduct field assessments and training junior enlisted HUMINT personnel. Working in the area of Army Intelligence is a job specialty that is varied and different.
The Army HUMINT operatives conduct debriefings, interrogations and confidential informants, as well as human intelligence assets to gain information. They are trained and expert in preparing human intelligence reports, and administrative reports. You will develop and be trained in a skill set during your 18 weeks of training. You will participate in training involving advanced electronic and computer equipment, and procedures that use charts, maps and other different human intelligence training. You will examine different types of HUMINT information, and use team and individual debriefings. The Army trains its intelligence officers to collect information on the vulnerabilities, capabilities, intents and other information on the enemy as well as collecting other information. A variety of methods and operations are employed to gather and assess different information for the pursuit of the Army mission or operation at hand. You will edit and screen different information, and work in both English and other languages where needed. One of the most important issues you will do is to screen and decide what information and material is legitimate and what sources and documents are not valid. You will attend Army Basic combat training for 9 weeks and then you will progress to advanced individual training for Human Intelligence Collection. You will be trained in a foreign language, or if you are already fluent, you will participate in refresher course work. The HUMINT operatives try to collect as much information as possible and they are ones that supervise and implement many different types of information collection procedures.
You can deal with people, or you may be tasked to deal with equipment used to monitor and keep track of different troop or enemy movements.
