With the current age of technology, the US Military has some of the most advanced audio and visual equipment in the world. The US Army maintains and uses different audio and visual equipment that is produced is for training, documenting events or even recording historical scenes or occurrences; still it is film and video production at its core.
You will learn to use motion picture and audio recording equipment along with different types of special effects and scripting. You will provide maintenance and operations on a variety of sound equipment and public address equipment, and be present at various military ceremonies and military events. The events that you record may not be Hollywood caliber, but you will still deal with different people doing a variety of tasks both military and ceremonial in action. Videos, films and audio recordings are utilized to record news events and a variety of military ceremonies and training activities. Army Visual Equipment operators work with computer and radio controlled video switches to perform and operate television monitors, television cameras, and remote controlled video switches. Job training for Army Equipment Visual operator?s starts with nine weeks of Basic combat training, learning to be an Army Enlisted person. Following boot camp you will progress to 27 weeks of individual training working on various television and motion picture type equipment. As a senior enlisted Visual Equipment operator you will use your training and experience in helping to train enlisted and junior personnel. Visual Information equipment operators record different activity in the broadcast and audiovisual field. They work with editing script and filming to document events and training type exercises. As an Army Visual Information Equipment Operator you will use motion picture recording equipment, film projectors, and digital recording devices. There are many Army missions and operations that need to be documented, and you will be responsible for using equipment to do so.
