The US Military has always had a difficult time trying to prove that there are beneficial effects from being in other countries, which has often been hard for many people to understand, let alone appreciate and support. 2007 has been the deadliest year yet for deaths in the Iraqi War. There have been over 3,000 deaths to date, which is indeed staggering numbers for anyone to take in. Nonetheless, the US military will still thrive on, making sure that there are great protections that are taken against the impending armies. This is done, despite the high death rates that the US Military is bombarded with on a daily basis.
President Bush, as well as most Republicans and a few Democrats, have been known to support the Iraq war. To have an immediate withdraw of troops is said to be detrimental to the overall effects of the US Military. Therefore, President Bush will keep the troops in the area, will supply them with the most up-to-date information as possible, and will keep the death rate as low as possible. That being said, there is really no chance that any of the military will see their loved ones return any time soon. There are some troop removal from various areas, but nothing that has been significant enough as of yet. As long as there is a battle to be fought against terrorism, the American troops will be in defense of the land, and of their own troops. Although there have been many lives and limbs that have been lost so far, the Military continues to press on.
