Working in the military is a job choice that can be productive in many ways. Sometimes there are times when medical assistance or surgery are required for veterans after they leave the military. The military does not have a program currently for assisting Veterans with necessary medical services, but there are some different services and programs available that do have the means to assist individual Servicemembers with travel needs.
Angel Flight was formed to give medical transportation to those who are the most in need, to support medical treatment directly, or to support transportation in order to receive treatment. One of these programs is a non-profit program that gives free or very low cost medical transportation for Veterans that require travel to medical treatment a long distance away. This organization offers Veteran Angel Flight, and it gives free transportation when needed to Veterans needing assistance. Veteran?s Angel Flight- This is a group of military supporters and Veterans that are pilots. They joined together to help meet an identified need. They serve to give medically necessary transportation to those who require medical treatment; travel for medical treatment, and for loved ones of Veterans needing travel when necessary. While originally started for Veterans, dependants of Veterans and others who have served their country in the past and need medical transportation.

For a number of years, the military had no referral organizations to send military people to for assistance in traveling for medical reasons. It also gives transportation where deemed necessary for the dependants of Veterans who are needing to travel to be with their Veterans to give support. For those that qualify it is available at no cost. Angel Flight is a civilian patriot organization, one that has a long history and one that supports the people who are vested to supply travel support and help, and this is a vital and necessary area. Many people cannot afford their own travel expenses, especially for travel that is repeated, such as chemotherapy or radiation that has to happen in multiple episodes over a long period of time.
