The Veterans Administration has a number of different programs that work to assist veterans, but one of the programs that is not well known is the Licensing and Vocational Veterans Certification program. It is a program that reimburses and benefits Veterans for licensing and certification tests, licenses and other vocational programs. There are some different specific types of certification and licensing that qualify for GI Bill funding, and for those that do not qualify the VA is sometimes able to pay for the cost of Vocational tests, licenses and other vocational career costs.
To get a job in various different Vocational fields you have to have a license or certification.
There are a number of jobs that are required in the business world, and the federal workforce. You can obtain a certification or license when you meet certain requirements, and you have some jobs that must have license or certification before you can start work. To get a license or certification you often have to pay a fee or fill out an application along with a payment for the license or certificate. This is a program that helps to pay for the cost of these types of licenses or certificates, or will often provide the Veteran with reimbursement if they pay out of pocket for these types of Vocational expenses. There are certain jobs or professions that require a specific certification and or a license, while at other times these vocational certificates are voluntary but they help with getting a job. Having the correct license or certification can sometimes make all the difference in the world. Funding from this VA program can be up to $2,000 dollars for each test or type of test that you take. The cost or reimbursement has to be restricted to the actual fee or cost of the license, test or certificate, you cannot receive any more money than the actual cost of the license or certificate.

If you fail a test you can retake it and receive benefits for it again, but you are not able to retake a test if you passed it, nor receive benefits for tests that you pass after passing them once. In some cases the money that you receive under this VA program may reduce the amount of MGIB benefits you can receive slightly, down the road, but it still can be a big advantage to make use of the program when you need it to pay for your vocational certificate or license.
