Iraqi And Coalition Forces Cooperate In Enforcement Of Al Amin
The Iraqi National Police and members of the Coalition US National Police transition team partners went on patrol together on the streets of Baghdad. They are working cooperative to enforce a weapons free zone around the region of Al Amin on July 13th.
The combined forces work to lead a clearing operation going from business to business, and from home to home talking with members of the community, explaining to them about the Iraqi Government declaration that Al Amin is now a weapons free zone. They told the members of the community that weapons are not allowed in Al Amin.
The soldiers from the Iraqi Security Forces and the Coalition also worked to collect any weapons that they encountered. Any household that has a AK-47 or other weapons were given a receipt, but they had to give up their weapons.
The efforts are seen as a positive trend, and the Iraqi National policemen have taken the lead while the US Soldiers and members of the coalition rendered support, and advice.
The Iraqi National Police has grown and matured through the different experiences that they have participated in, and this one provided additional opportunities for growing in professionalism.
