If there is one thing which is of the utmost importance in the United States Air Force, it is maintaining smooth surfaces for aircraft to take off and land from every day. This means having long strips of paved surfaces ready for aircraft to take off and land at will. It is one of the many reasons why it is so important to have well-trained pavement and construction apprentices on hand at any given time.
What You Will Do
When you work as a pavement and construction apprentice in the US Air Force, you will be in charge of making sure that the pavement is always in good condition throughout the base. You will also assist in the construction of the different structures around the base. You will specialize in the mixing and pouring of the concrete which will be used to create the strength and stability which is desired on the US Air Force bases.
