There is always a danger of an explosive ordnance being placed on the grounds of an air base or in the path of vehicles or aircraft. This poses a very realistic danger to the men and women of the United States Air Force every day. This is why it is important that there are Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Apprentices hired and trained to protect those who serve in the US Air Force.
Dangerous, Yet Important
Because the work of the EOD apprentice is so important, you will be paid special hazard pay. The good news is even while you will be working in extremely dangerous situations, you will be give disarming robots you can use to remain safe hundreds of yards away. You will be trained constantly to make sure you understand what to look for in professional and amateur explosives as well as how to disarm them properly and safely.

Regular Patrols
Securing the US Air Force Base is very important. This is why you will conduct inspections every day of the airfield as well as all of the surrounding areas. You will both walk and drive the air strips in order to make sure that nothing is out of place or out of ordinary. You will be expected to inspect all items which do not belong treating them as if they are explosive devices.
