Perhaps the biggest reason why people decide to join the army and why you should too is to defend freedom. There is something to be said for the satisfaction that comes from serving your country. You can also make history at the same time that you are learning a new career, either an Army career or a civilian career.
Many people want to be a part of something that is bigger than them and the Army is a great way to accomplish that goal. The skills that one can learn in any military branch such as the Army, will be helpful in any challenges that may lay ahead in your future.
Another great reason to join the army is the tuition for college that you can receive so that you can study the things you need to and be able to work in a career that you have always dreamed of.
These are only a few of the reasons why you should join the Army, but most importantly the satisfaction that you get from serving his second to none.
Bottomline. If you’d like to serve your country, searching for an opportunity that may offer career on-the-job training and willing to submit to ‘discipline’ authority, then you may want to go for it! The Army offers many schools that may lead to a career long after your enlistment. But you must prepare and study for your ASVAB to qualify for the right school. But be warned, competition is steep for the best Army jobs today. Research online. Study. Talk to recruiters. If possible, go to your closest Army base and talk to active Army people — and their families — about their day-to-day life in the Army. Ask the tough questions. Remember, it’s your life and your Army career may determine what you do for the rest of your living life.
I am thinking about it!
i am in the JROTCat fredericktown mussiou
this has really helped me with my homework so thank you
I’m a refugee emigrant to USA. My native country is call Burma(Myanmar) and rule by dictatorship regime. We were escaped from the country because of our willing to democracy and human rights. We got to refuge by democracy mother country USA. So, I would like to gives back something. This is the reason of I want to join to ARMY.
i am in AFJROTC at billy ryan high school in denton texas i like it its really fun you get to do alot of things you get to go to drill meets you get to wear a uniform you get to join special teams like color guard drill team etc… you get to do pt you get to learn about airforce its really cool
I did 4 years in USMC, now im out i am thinking about joining the Army. They have a much more relaxed mindset, less arrogance and bull. You know the saying about grass on the other side. If i have any advice for anyone it is to make sure you 100% want to do this. Then if you decide to go through with it, dont forget those initial reasons you joined. They will be what makes you do your term honorably. People will call you “motard” = retard because of your motivation, etc…all in all just make sure its what you want to do, and stick by your guns. You will see people that have lost their way, just keep your head straight and worry about you in country, in combat look to your left n right. Semper fi i hope this helped someone. Its a big decision, you’re not just choosing a career, or a job, its a lifestyle that you must be willing to accept.
i want to join the army to fight for my country
i am thinking about jionin and if i doi would be so happy that i help my country and if die i would know i died tring
I LOVED this post…so true! My hnusabd and I have talked about another baby, but of course we're trying to plan it around his deployments!!
i really want to join the US army because i want to protect my country and my people .right now i am currently doing JROTC at school and i really enjoy it we get to do alot of things for example drill team color guard raiders etc i am 15yrs old and i cant wait untill i am 17yrs old so i can get the consent of my parents to join the US army.As long as my parents willing to sign that piece of paper (the parental consent), then i will be in the army, for at least 20 yrs. One of the great benefit of joining at the age of 17 is that the earlier you enter the service, the earlier you start to accumulate time in service. What that means is let say you want to spend 20 years in the military, you can retire at the age of 37!! and enjoy the rest of your life with a nice paycheck coming from the US government. Aren’t that nice or what?
I WILL BE BACK ON THIS WEBSITE AT THE AGE 37 ……… 🙂
Thought of joining the Marines all through the 80’s and part of the 90’s, but the Trucking Industry got more and more addictive. I don’t regret not joining the Military. Although I could of, perhaps had a better family orientation for myself.
My main factor for survival now is based on {“My-Five-0Issue-Plan”}. Just because we think we have what it takes submission sometimes kicks in and we seldom see the legit meaning to life.

Defending Freedom is Priority. Knowing it is also a recommendation of it.
I’m 12 and right now im thinking about joining the army. I don’t know why, but i’m in love of the thought of defending my country, and fighting for our freedom. i think it’s because my uncle on mmy dads side of the family was in the army, and i guess that’s why. It might also be be becuase i want revenge on terrorists and make them pay and learn their lesson from 911. Osama Bin Laden got it bad, but there is another terrorist live right now named Kony. He is kidnapping children and raping their parents and giving them weapons to fight for him.
I might join the army but i’m a little scared of the snipers and the Machine Gunniest people but I might think about being a U.S Marine(it looks cool plantitng bombs) but i watched this video and training is really hard, so yea ill think about it
I’ve been thinking about joining the army. I’m a 28 year old female. Just want to hear from some other females that are in the army? Do you have to go to college after you join the army?
i am only in the 9th grade and I don’t know if should join or not some one help me
I have the honor to say that I am currently in the US Army!!! It has always been my dream to join and I did… You don’t have to attend college after you join but some ppl do. Training is hard u have to be physically and mentally ready for it… It’s hard work but will be worth it in the end… Be 100 percent sure it’s what u want for urself or ur family. Make sure ur family (husband, wife, kids) etc are with u on it… Cuz they will be ur support system ur reason to push urself to do better for urself… To keep going and give them a better life, as said before it’s not just a career or a job it’s a lifestyle u have to be ready for.
YOU ARE NOT DEFENDING AMERICA WHEN YOU JOIN THE MILITARY. YOU ARE WORKING FOR THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL CORP0RATE COMPLEX.
