Navy Women FAQs
Do women and men train separately?
Absolutely not. While women live separately, all of the training is the same as men. Many people believe that women in the Navy are treated differently and looked down upon. From the first day of training you will find that this is not the case.
What are the requirements for women interested in joining the Navy?
The same as men, women are expected to maintain very high standards. The only difference between the two is that women can wear their hair longer ? that is it. Again, this just goes to show you that women are being treated the same as men when it comes to the Navy.
You must be at least 18 years of age. That being said, if you are 17 and have your parents? permission you can also join. You must be no older than 34. If you are interested in an Officer program you must be between the age of 19 and 35.
What types of jobs can women hold in the Navy?
Generally speaking, women can apply for just about any job in the Navy. The only exception is the Navy SEALs ? this select group is off limits to women.
If you are a woman a career in the Navy makes a lot of sense. Not only can you serve your country, but you can learn a lot along the way. The Navy does not care if you are a man or woman. What they do care about is that you are dedicated to serving your country.
